Kicked to the Curb

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I have officially been denied.  I guess I wasn't too surprised since all the other poop that went on. What really p'd me off was that Sanica at Dr. Harris' got the letter on July 13th. I had to call today to see if they have heard anything yet. *sigh* Glad I didn't wait much longer...geeze! She said "Didn't you talk to Sue?" Yes, in fact, I spoke to Sue, Meredith, Kelly, Vicki and you...each with a different story. And you, *****ceived the letter, never called me. blah blah blah So, I spent the afternoon typing my appeal letter for UHC. I faxed it over and now I shall wait some more.  Glad I can atleast come on OH and read some happy news. A rather depressing day. I feel like Ziggy stuck under that dark cloud. LOL Brighter daze are coming! Love Love Love Mary Ann   

Let's just pretend it say's Doctor's office instead of teller!  Things will get better soon!

I am sorry you got that letter and also sorry you had to deal with office run around. Im glad you are putting up a fight and going to appeal this!!!! I wish you the best of luck sweetie in getting this turned around in YOUR favor!!! remember October is just around the corner....

At this point I have nothing to lose. I am prepared for disappointment, though, so anything other than that is a big PLUS! I do have a slight glimmer of hope left in me. It ain't over till...well, you know... "I SING!" hee (Please, make me sing...)

Hi Myrtis - I apparently have an "exclusion" regarding WLS in my policy. Pretty much set in stone according to Customer Care rep. (Care? Bah! I think not!) So, I'm just going through the motions and hoping for a miracle. Prayers, please. They are always welcome. Thanks, Mary Ann

Hey there, you hang in there!  I had UHC also with the "exclusion" for WLS in the policy.  I wrote an appeal letter to UHC and NCDOI office of the commissioner They responded right away, and what they do is contact the insurance company to find out if there is anything that can be done, In my case there was not, because of the "exclusion"  I got the denial letter from UHC about 2 weeks after I sent it in.  I was dicouraged by that point, because we had been getting so many conficting stories about the way the policy was worded, it didn't matter they still denied me.  My husbands company has since changed insurance carriers and made sure that WLS was included in their policy, now I just have to wait for it to go into effect.  \ You hang in there and don't give up, because it's a fight worth fighting!  I wish you luck in getting approved.
