Anyone close to Wilmington?

Hello everyone..

 

I'm new here and starting my weight lost journey.. My name is Taryn married 2 girls, 10 and 4. I put on over 135 in 4 years... I was a SAHM and then got pregnant with baby number 2 and gained  even more and  the more i YO-YO'ED the more i gained when i went off. So I gave up.. now i currently weigh 303. I recently received my package and filled it all out and my reg. pcp is having my ekg and chest ray done on the 23rd and my cbc-tsh on the 16th opf august and then i have my sleep study this wednesday night.. once i talk to my doctor tom. i will see if she will be scheduling my appointments for the gall bladder ultrasound and the venous duplex.. i will be scheduling my diet course class this week as well. BUt tom. i will be calling BC/BS of NC to see if my surgery will be covered and see if i can start the submitting process of the approval forms. i'm currently in the super obese catergory with a bmi of 53 so i'm praying BCBSNC will cut me some slack.. if anyone else is just starting out here in this area i'd love to meet..

Taryn, welcome to the NC board, hope you'll love it here!  I am not in Wilmington, but in Jacksonville, so...almost.  There are several people here from this area and we're trying to get together a group that can meet every now and then, I'll let you know when it is next!!  Good luck with your journey!! Hi Taryn - I live in Hampstead, just a stone's throw from you. I am pre-op too, waiting for insurance approval. (Long story...) It would be nice to meet you at the next gathering. Welcome Taryn!!! You should be able to find some folks in all stages.  I'm 15 months post op and have lost 155.  Good luck with your insurance I'm sure you'll be fine.  Dr. Miles did a great job with me. Congratulations!!  I hope to attend the potluck this Sat if my schedule permits - keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I hope that you will be able to make the pot luck. I'm from Raleigh, but 5 of us are going to drive down and rent a condo on the beach.

Well WOW!!! LOL... so nice to meet all of you. I would LOVE to come to the potluck...and I THINK i might be able to make it.. My husband is off this Saturday but I have to work.. I get off at 1:30pm though so this may be able to work.. once I know for sure that he will in fact be off I will send you a pm a little later this evening. And I just got off the phone with BCBS I think all we will be well. But she said she really couldn't just say, But she think I might be covered as long as I meet all the requirements..
