Candice is on the mend

I spoke with Candice's mom, Rena' earlier today. Candice has been moved out of ICU and is now in a "regular" post surgical room. Rena' says that she's doing much better, but is still very weak. She still gets dizzy when she gets up for a walk so they need to be careful that she doesn't end up on the floor again ...She lost it when she went for a walk yesterday and ended up on the wheels of the wheelchair.

As you may recall Candice is really going to have to have some stamina when she leaves the hospital because she's going to have to navigate 2 flights of stairs to get into her home. And that would be after traveling from Pinehurst to Raleigh.

Thankfully, Rena' was able to get some sleep and a good shower, so while she is undoubtedly exhausted, she was able to recharge some.

Please continue to keep them both in your thoughts and prayers.

Glad to hear Candice is getting there....little by little....she will regain her strengh. I'm sure they will make sure she can do a few laps before sending her home..... GO CANDICE!                                             

Thanks Barb. I feel MUCH better knowing that she is now out of ICU.  Hopefully they will take their time in sending her home this time.  Two flights of stairs is an awful lot! Suzanne

Poor kid. So glad that she is finally regaining her strength a bit. She is very lucky to have her mom there with her. I'll be keeping them both in my prayers. Mare

I am so flad to hear Candice is improving.  I am also having surgery w/ Dr Mitchell on 8/2.  So it is both scary to realize the realities of wheat can happen and reassuring to know his staff was helpful in getting her back on the raod to recovery.  Give her out best. Alane

Ok, I just posted asking what had happened but now I'm so relieved to hear she is doing better. This is scary but a reality when we undergo major surgery. I hate this but she has her mom and she will help her through it. Thank you Barb for keeping us in the know.... Jennifer
