My biggest temptation to date
Well, since I've been on my liquid fast for 11 days now, I've had a couple of difficult temptations to cheat, but I haven't so far. Well I had my most difficult challenge thus far this evening.
My Mom made homeade chicken salad for my Dad this weekend and there was a bowl in the fridge for my Daughter. She wanted it for dinner this evening and while she was taking her shower I prepared her meal.
Scooping out the chicken salad had my mouth watering and I was invisioning myself diving into that bowl and licking it clean. It was SOOOOOO hard not to even lick the fork and get a taste of them mayonase. I swear I actually felt pain when I replaced the cling wrap back over the bowl and stuck it back in the fridge. I still can't believe I resisted! I'm very proud indeed. :D
It's quite ironic in that my intire family gathered at my sister's new house for pizza and desert away from me so I wouldn't be tempted and I could have probably resisted the pizza much more easily.

As you know the surgery gives us the tool, but learning to use it and change our eating habits is probably the biggest part of this journey. I know that I have temptations all the time. Recognizing the triggers and managing them is what's important.
It sounds like you are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.

P.S. Doing this before surgery will probably help you post surgery. Head hunger is a powerful beast, but it's one we can tame!
