Update on Candice...

Candice's mom, Renee, took her to the ER here in Raleigh. They weren't really able to help Candice. They did punch her full of holes trying to get blood though. :-(

When I couldn't reach Candice at home, I realized that she had probably been re-admitted to the hospital. Unfortunately, I was right. Dr. Mitchell has re-admitted her. She's now in ICU. Renee said that she was seriously dehydrated and apparently has an infection at one of her drain sites. On top of that she has been suffering with a significant amount of pain ...it's been bad enough that it has been difficult to manage the pain, so they have put her back on a morphine pump. They started a "Pick Line" so that they don't have to keep using her hands and arms for pin-cushions. I believe that Candice is in good hands.

I'll touch base again tomorrow to see how she's doing and see if her mom needs some respite. (She will be staying with Candice around the clock.) Candice is so lucky that she has her mom there as her personal advocate.

As when any of us are hospitalized, please keep Candice in your thoughts and prayers.

Barb - Thanks for the update! I'm very sorry to hear that Candice is back in the hospital. Prayers will be flowing for her!

Prayers are going up here too. 

I'll be praying for Candice and her family. I am so sorry she isn't doing well and so thankful she has her mom with her. Beth

Thanks for the update Barbara. I hope that Candice will be up and about soon. I am sorry that she has had complications. Dr. Mitchell has many surgeries under his belt and I feel sure he will get her straightened out. Is she at Moore Regional? Please keep us posted.  Lisa

Yes, she is at Moore Regional. She's in ICU now, so visitors and flowers aren't an option. I wish that there was something that I/we could do for her.

I had Dr Mitchell and if anyone can get her fixed up...Dr Mitchell and Brett can.  Is she at Moore Regional and let us know when she is out of ICU so maybe some of us close to there can visit.

Barbara,   Thanks for the update.  I will keep Candice and Renee in my thoughts and prayers!  I'm glad her Mom came to OH so we knew what was going on.   It's great that her Mom is with her, I know I couldn't have done as well without my family to support me.
