Hello! This is my first post here. I'm still learning how to use the site, but wanted to say hello to all the NC Members.  I'm 34, single, mother of 1 daughter who's 10.5 years old. My surgery is scheduled for next Thursday July 26th.  I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here.

Thanks for such a great welcome,,,,,, Well, let's see. I have been married for fifteen years. I have 2 wonderful children my son is 13 and my daughter is 9. They are the BEST children ever, well, most of the time anyway! HA! I am from Newton NC.. I have not fully decided which surgery I am going to have. Leaning more towards lap band I THINK> I'm worried about all the extra skin with bypas, I can't EVEN afford plastic surgery after the fact...So I think with the band I'll loose more slowly and be able to tone as I go??? Another thing I worry about is infection, I am VERY prone to infection, have had staph AND MRSA. NOT FUN!!!!! So I'm waiting to talk to doc about what he thinks, any suggestions???? I love this board, all of you guys are GREAT! Nice to meet all of you and look forward to all of our talks!!

Holley -

I want to welcome you to NC forum. I think you will find that everyone is helpful and supportive. Please ask plenty of questions ... we all learn from them and there is no such thing as a "stupid question."

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

I'm having the RNY type surgery.

My highest weight was 306, I'm currently at 290. I'm also in the middle of my 2 week pre-op slimfast only period that my surgeon requries. It's hard to believe that I've not had any solid food in over a week! I'm very proud though!

I'll get a signature file added in soon.
