I'm one week post op and feeling great!
Hello all. Just wanted to give a quick "one week out" update! I am feeling great!!! Almost all my soreness in my belly is gone. I can now sleep on either side and am looking so forward to the day I can once again sleep on my tummy!!! I have one incision that is a bit bigger than the rest that is still tender but all of them are healing nicely! I have my eating routine down for now. Right now I have a 33 gram 8 oz. protein shake for breakfast, soup, cheese, or whatever for lunch, then another 33 gram 8 oz. protein shake for dinner. Then I will have some jello or pudding or a popsicle for a snack later in the evening if I feel the need for something. This is what is working for me now as I still cannot eat enough "real" food to get in my required 59 grams of protein per day. I take one Flintstone chewable, my B12 sublingual, a Zantac, and a chewable calcium after I have my breakfast. Then after I have my dinner, I do the same thing again except for the B-12 since I only have to have that once a day. And of course I am sipping on water throughout the day as well. My surgeon wants me to have at least 48 oz of fluid a day and I am still falling short of that goal but it is improving everyday! Right now I am only getting in approximately 40 oz so I'm trying hard to work on that!
When I came home from the hospital, I had gained 6 lbs from all the fluid. As of this morning, I have lost that 6 lbs plus 10 more!! I am so excited. And I got the o.k. from my surgeon today via telephone to go back to work on Monday. I am so ready since I am bored to tears by daytime t.v.!!!
That's just a quick update on me. Hope everyone else is doing great!!!
Hugs,
Donna

Thanks sweetie!! I'm not so sure you should be all that inspired by me ~ it's been mostly trial and error to figure out what is going to work best!! I'm sure you will do just as well as I have if not even better!!!
I see that you got your signature and ticker going! Looks good!!!

Donna,
Congratulations on feeling great and getting off to a great start there. It is amazing what difference a week can make. I know next week you will feel even better. I know I do. Sounds like you have a good plan and are doing really well with the eating stuff. I know you are tickled to see the weight coming off as well. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Lisa!!! The first few days, I was really regretting my decision to have surgery. But it's amazing to me how much better I seem to feel every day! I haven't had a nap for the past two days and by the end of the day, I am pretty much wiped out but other than that, no problems! I feel really blessed and hope it continues!! You seem to be doing great yourself!!! We are going to be hot, skinny mamas in no time!!!
Hugs,
Donna

That's great news, Donna. I remember when you first got home you weren't so sure if you would have done it again. I am guessing now, the answer is yes?
I know what you mean about daytime television too. Uuuugghhh! Don't like soaps or court tv, so good thing I like to read.
Keep up the great work.

I would absolutely do it again!!!! I think the first few days it's just the drugs talking!!! LOL!!!!
I love to read too!! Mostly mysteries but I will read other stuff too!
Thanks for your encouraging words!!!
Hugs,
Donna
