Well things are not much better so Lee is taking me to my pcp again this afternoon. Im freaking out about the laundry that is pilling up. Sitting seems to be all I can do and walking I am seeing the world doubled over I cant stand up straight. Yes I am SMO but I am a go getter. I do all the shopping, laundry and work a part time job but since this thing with my hip and thigh is going on all I can do is sit . I did manage to do some dishes but put a chair in front of the sink and did them that way. Thanks to everyone for thier thoughts and advice. I am going to talk to my pcp about a cortisone shot again and see if we can increase my insulin in case my blood sugars go up.                                                                           Annie

Aw sweet Annie, I wish there was something I could do to help ease your pain.  Hopefully your PCP will be able to give you something to help.  Hang in there sweetie!  It has to get better!   Don't worry about the laundry or the housework ~ Lord knows it ain't going anywhere and right now you need to focus on getting yourself to feeling better.  Take care and let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.  You are definintely in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Donna

Oh, Annie. I can definatley relate to the pain you're in. I had surgery on both legs when I was a child, due to a birth defect. 14 surgeries, to be exact from the age of 4 months to 12 yrs old. My left leg is about 1.5" shorter than the right so I have walked the past 33 years "tilted." Carrying this XXX weight around has taken its toll the past few years. The pain from the arthritis in my right hip and left ankle is quite crippling at times. And I, like you, are a go getter. I don't like to take pain meds, but I have to at times. This is another reeason I so desperately need this surgery. I hope your PCP can figure out omething that helps you. My doctor never suggested the cortisone shot to me. Please let me know how that works out for you. Wishing you the best, my friend. Mary Ann

Hi Mary Ann, All those surgeries sound horrible and to deal with them at such a young age. BTW I like your picture you put up always good to put a face to a name. As for my doctor visit she enceased my pain meds and muscle relaxer. She said I would have to wait three weeks before getting a shot. Personally I think it boils down to her hesitation giving a shot to a diabetic. So tonight we are going to a chiropractor who is flying in from NY and then he is leaving for a two week vacation to the outer banks. So my pcp said it wont hurt to go see him but she has also refered me to a pyhsical therapist which I go see tomorrow evening. So with all that I hope by my surgery day I will be able to stand. Thank you for your concern.                                                               Annie
