So over Food
Ok so I thought it would be great not to be hungry but now I am not sure what I want to eat because if I have already tried it, I don't want it and it almost makes me sick to think about certain foods. I haven't tried salads yet my doc said not for many more months cause it can get hung up in my pouch and make a blockage espically fresh spinich. The only thing right now that I can tolerate is my dannon light actieve peach yogart and cherries or melons. Protein just grosses me out now. Had a hankering for a hot dog, skinned one and ate it yesterday with homemade slaw and now I don't care if I ever see one again. Same with Pizza toppings, shrimp, chicken, beef, crab and so on. How long does this last???

I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL, I CAN'T EAT ANYTHING. JUST THINKINGABOUT FOOD SEEMS TOMAKE ME SICK, AND PROTEIN AND SHAKES OR JUST DRINKS...YUK..IM JUST WONDERING IF IAM OK. I TRY TO EAT A LIL BUT I KNOW IM NOT GETTING HARDLY ANY CALORIES IN MUCH LESS PROTEIN. BUT IAM JUST NOT HUNGERY..I SURE HOPE IT PASSES FOR BOTH OF US SOON..TAKE CARE..TRACI
I like the idea of not wanting to think about food, its just the idea that when I think about certain things if I had it its like it makes me sick to my stomach. I just don't want to go the protein drink route becuase it reminds me of Insure and such and I never want to see a can of that again. I'd rather be sea sick!

It is hard to eat when you are not hungry or wanting food but its important to get on an eating schedule and stick to it. You said protein grosses you out... but yogurt is protein too... there are many sources of protein out there so work on finding whatever you can tolerate.
As for how long it lasts... its different for everybody... once you start setting meal times and sticking to it you will find it easier to eat... keep in mind hunger can return at any time so its important to develop good eating habits now since you will be using them for the rest of your life.
As for the hot dog... when you dont eat a lot of fat, sugar, salt you kind of lose you taste... hot dogs are fatty... if you got light or FF they are still loaded with salt... I found I lost my taste for most of the "bad foods" I use to eat and prefer to eat healthier :-)

Yep I have but now I am spoiled. I guess I really need to go back there since honestly I am only in the fish, chicken and soft food stage according to my schedule. They said well cooked non gassy vegs if I am still hungry and only 2 ounces at a meal. BUt I can eat 3 if it is yogart. Guess it's my old habits thinking I need more than that. Today though I have been wanting carbs. I did snack on these baked pita chip pieces. Only about 4 pieces. I just don't know what I want. Oh and I also tried a left over grilled hot dog. Not all of it and alittle bit of sour kraut. All chopped up with a small dash of ketchup. Now I didn't each much since I had to go back to work and last time a hotdog though cooked in a steamer didn't sit well and these were beef franks 3% fat.
