Lap band pain VS gall bladder removal pain?

I was wondering if anyone here has had both and can tell me if the pain is about the same since I think they are done about the same way? I had laparoscopic gall bladder surgery in 2005 and the pain wasnt that bad.I know someone said it was easier than a c-section and I have had 3 kids but no c-sections to compare to.  Nena

I cannot imagine the pain would be remarkably different from any other lap surgery.  My sister has had a gallbladder removal and an appendectomy and 3 c-sections and she said in comparison the first two where the easiest.  I just think that your pain would be similar with any lap surgery. 

I would say it's a little worse....to me there seemed to be more gas pain that I remember w/ the band surgery. I will say I was back at work in a week, still a little tired but I made it.  As for the c-section comment, I would say it was about the same although I felt like I recovered quicker w/ the c-section. But who knows. haha Good Luck!

The pain was a little worse than my gallbladder surgery, but the gallbladder was really easy for me. It wasn't anything that couldn't be managed with walking and pain meds. Good luck!

Nena, You keep posting here, there are plenty of us "Banders" here.  I have not had Lap surgery before, but I can tell you that is was MUCH easier than the 2 C-sections I had. Lori
