Advice Needed Guys!
3 days and counting. I am getting nervous/anxious/excited and all of the above.. LOL
Today I have decided to get all my ducks in a row for my absence here. I have shopped and cleaned and now I am in my closet.
Question... I am in 22/24's right now. Sugery is on Monday. You guys know that it does not get cold enough here to wear real fall clothes until October or so. Am I safe getting all of those bigger sizes out of the closet? I have been putting it off.. Dean has been telling me to do it for weeks.. but there is a little voice in my head that says to keep them close by. I have plenty of smaller sizes too, so I won't be naked this fall (thank God) but I just have this freaky freaky feeling about putting those fat clothes in storage. HELP!
I've been thinking the same thing. So I have decided to get rid of most of them and keep about 2 pair, just in case. Including my sweaters, and jackets.

This must be something linked to surgery. Yesterday I looked in the closet and took inventory. I have 15 pairs of pants for the fall in the next size down, and then 22 pants the size down after that. I'm about scared to look in the shirts, and funny thing I own 3 pairs of shorts, none of which I wear nowhere else other than the gym. The way it looks, I wont have to buy anything till summer, but wait, I think I have those too!! Sheesh.
I COMPLETELY understand what you are experiencing: that fear that it "won't work for me." This is a process, not an event I'm sure, so just take it a day at a time. You don't NEED to make a decision today, so if you want to put it off some more, go ahead until you are comfortable with your success. It WILL work for you! (A little voice in me just said "Yeah, but not for YOU, Suzanne!")
Here's a thought: Take them to Sheila's clothing swap on the 28th or send them if you can't attend.
All the best!

I would actucally not get rid of them yet... wait until winter rolls around so you can pass on to a WLS patient that needs them!! Some people like to stock on up clothes prior to surgery etc but I personally liked to give my clothes to somebody post-op who was either in that size or getting ready to go down to that size so I knew they would get use!
Plus its fun to pull out something that fit before... or was too tight and see it just falling off you!

I agree with Jennifer. Hold on to them for now, give them away when winter rolls around. I don't think you'll need them for yourself by then, but as she said, it'll be fun to see it not fit. Then give it to someone that needs it. Can you box them up though, so that they're not taking up room in your closet?
Take care.
