So glad you're home and doing okay.  The ickies will pass soon enough and then you'll no longer wonder why you did this thing.  Keep walking and sipping, they do make the whole thing easier.  I was very weak post surgery, found out it was because i was taking in about half the water that I should have been. Keep up the good work and keep us posted! Take care. Ellen

Welcome Back Donna! I think we all sort of feel like we are blown up like blow fish, but this will pass soon. Be sure to take your pain meds, try litterally sipping water or chipped ice and getting the protien in. Also try to get up and walk at least every hour. At first you might just make it around the house, but soon you'll be making it around the block and then a mile and more ... Remember that it really will make you feel better.

I also had that OMGoodness, what have I done feeling. This too will pass.

Please be gentle with yourself.

Donna, Welcome home!  Glad to hear that you made it through okay.  I too gained weight while in the hospital...thought I would just scream!  But, it came off within a day or two of being home.  I guess the IV fluids plus the air that they pumped into our stomach will do that to us.  It gets better everyday.  I don't tolerate drugs very well so I stopped all pain meds after that first day in the hospital.  I do better with a clear head and a lot of walking.  I get all shaky from the drugs and I don't like that feeling at all. So, keep us all informed when the pounds start melting off...the hardest part is behind you now.  Have a good night.   E

Hi Donna. Glad you are home and ok. It is hard not to have buyer's remorse in the beginning but soon you will be smiling seeing those lbs. go down, down, down. I am only 11 days out and starting to see that this is a great thing. I also gained but quickly lost after coming home.

Let us know if we can help.
