Hello everyone!  Well, I made it thru and am now home.  I ain't gonna lie ~ it's been a rough couple of days!!!  I had quite a bit of pain when I woke up from surgery on Tuesday.  The surgery took a little over 4 hours.  Doc said my gall bladder was a booger and was difficult to get out.  I have 5 "war wounds" on my stomach and I left the hospital today weighing 6 pounds more than I did when I went in!!  I am very swollen thru my belly and in my hands but I know that will improve with time.  Eating and trying to drink water without gulping has been hard for me!!  I'm just not hungry!!  I know I have to eat though because I am very weak and shaky feeling.  This is a learn as you go process I think.   If someone were to ask me right now if I would do it again, I would have to say I'm not sure.  I know that once the pounds start to come off and I get to feeling human again, I will probably change my mind. Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts and wishes.  I needed each and every one of them!!  I will post more later when this fog clears my brain!!! Hugs, Donna

Hey Donna,     Welcome home. I'm sure you are heavier because of all the fluid they give you. I hope you get through the next few days without much pain. I will keep you in my prayers. Best Wishes, Judy

Donna, I'm so glad that you are home safe and sound. I am still pre-op so I have no advice for you. But from what every one says this phase will pass and you will feel fantastic again. Hugs, Linda

Donna, I am so glad to see you have posted. I have been watching for you all day. I went to the informational meeting with Fuzz last night but he didn't get to come and Susan ran the meeting. The room was full. I am so glad you are home and I hope you are feeling better each day. When you feel better I want to hear more. Beth

Hey, I was there too! I was with my mom, we were in the back of the room. But I've had my first appointment with Elisabeth, Susan, and Fuzz, so I wasn't tooooo disappointed that his poor dog died and he couldn't be there. I have my psych eval tomorrow morning, and I'm a bit nervous... But, Donna, I hope your recovery goes really well. Hopefully you'll get past the "What have I Doooone?!" phase soon. :)

Welcome home, sweets. Sorry to hear about the pain. I am sure you'll be feeling much better real soon. Your poor body has been through alot. It will all be worth it in the long run. Feel better, girl! ;o) Mare

Hi Donna,      Welcome home. I understand that feeling of "what the heck have I done." But, believe me that is a fleeting thought and you are right once you feel better and all then you will not regret the decision you have made for your health. I am now 10 days out and each day I feel stronger and all. This was a major surgery and it will take time for your body to heal and when you do this will be all a memory. Don't worry about the extra 6 pounds. I gained 7 and when I went in for my check-up today, I had lost that plus another 13. Before you know it, the weight will start to fall off. Take your pain meds as needed and relax and just give it some time. It will get easier day by day. Lisa
