Hey You Guys?

I know I am jumping the gun, but I find myself getting real impatient to hear that I've been approved by insurance company...ALREADY! My stuff was only submitted a week ago and I suppose it is normal to be excited, but geeze, even I know that it's unreasonable to expect a response so quickly. How long did you all wait before calling and asking about it? I don't want to make a nuisance of myself by bugging them all the time. Aaaarrrgghhh!!!!! OK - I better go find something useful to do to occupy myself. I've been home all day and am just dwelling on this. I know better, but still can't help it. LOL Thanks guys! Going for a walk now... Mary Ann- I would call the ins. com at this point. Why wait??? It is becoming more commonplace for us ( the pts) to know our status of ins. approval before the insurance co notify the surgeon's office... Make that call and keep us posted! Sheila

Mary Ann, It depends on your insurance company, who do you have?  And call the ins. co first.  That is what you pay big time premiums for! Lori

I would call the  insurance company.  I got my approval in one day, but that is not typical I know.  Call them and see what is going on.. it is your right~ Who is the insurance co?

I called BCBS every couple of days. I am truly impatient too. I try to instill patience to my children, but I am worse by far then they could ever be! Make that call! -Chareen

I know! LOL I keep thinking about your one day approval and that is what I was hoping for. I have United Healthcare. Gonna call them in a bit. Will post result later. To be continued.......

Call your ins and make a friend of the cust service rep.  Get her number and ask her to help you.  IF you get someone "on the inside" in your corner, it can help a lot.  I called every couple of days and made such a friend with the rep that she asked me to call after the surgery and let her know how I did.  And, she sent me a personal get well card.
