David C. Voellinger

Hey everyone. Thanks to everyones replies on all my questions about Duke. I am in Concord which is very close to Charlotte. I found David C. Voellinger and hes in Charlotte. Does anyone know anything about him. Do you think hes better or not as good of a doctor as Eric DeMaria? Sorry for all the questions. I am just trying to find a great doctor. Thank you all so much. This has been a very helpful website. You all are have been wonderful help to me.

I have heard fanstastic things about dr voellinger - i don't think you could go wrong. Plus, you want to go close to home as possible, especially for follow up care.

Some of his staff are members of OH. You might just get lucky and one of them contact you. He's right up the road from my doc. I was torn between him and Dr. Lowe. Dr. V's staff is wonderful. I've only heard great things from his patients.

Nichole,  I've heard good things about Dr. Voellinger, here in Charlotte, but since you are right in Concord, check out Dr. Roc Bauman at Carolina Weight Loss, him and his staff are awesome too....I was referred by a good friend to Dr. Bauman...and I have not had any compliants.... April

Disclaimer!!!! - This is my experience only, and I am not representing that anyone else has ever had this issue with Dr. Voellinger's office or that anyone in the office is at fault. I attended Dr. Voellinger's seminar in August of last year but in the end went with Drs Bauman and Pirrello in Concord.   The seminar was informative, but the staff I dealt with at Dr. Voellinger's office did not seem as willing to be informed about my insurance as I would like.  Specifically, even tho I had the actual document showing that I was required to do 6 months medically supervised weight loss and not 12 and that BCBS specifically stated in the document that they prefered the weight loss program NOT be a affiliated with the surgery practice, Dr. Voellinger's staff pushed me to use them as the medically supervising place. I was concerned that I would be pushed to use products they sold, or support services they 'suggested' etc. and that made me uncomfortable.   I have not had any of those feelings from Dr. Pirrello's office staff, and in fact they recommended that I find a psychologist closer to home for my psych eval, etc.   Good luck.  If I can answer any other questions, feel free to send me a message. I wish so badley that Dr. Bauman would do my sugery. I have heard only great things about him and I know alot of people thats had him. I have medicade and his office said they dont take medicade anymore.

Dr. Voellinger is my surgeon.  I'm 2 years post-op RNY and love him and his staff.  All the specialist are in his office so no traveling all over town for other visits except for your PCP.  They also have a wonderful monthly support group meeting.  They do have an in office store but have never felt pressure to purchase vitamins or such from them.  I don't know anything about Dr. DeMaria.   Good luck on your decision. Hi, Dr Voellinger is one of the best around! He was who I was reffered to from Dr Cleek in Charlotte. However, mu insurance isn't covered with him....so I went w/ Dr Gersin with Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte...he comes very highly recommended also. Dr. V. is the best!!!! I love him!!!! I had my surgery on July 27, 2005 and HE DID IT!!! I have  lost all my excess weight. I weighed 350 and lost some on my own, I weighed 326 when I had the surgery. I now weigh 135!!! His goal for me was 150. He made sure I had what I needed. His staff is wonderful!!! I can't say enough good about him.Rita
