Another update on Ethel A.

Hi All -

I just spoke with Ethel again. She's still at UNC Chapel Hill. They have her on IV fluids and are are getting ready to start a second IV for Nexium. The current IV site has infused her left hand and they are going to have to move it. You know how we all love to be poked and proded.  She said that the cold cream of wheat, broth, etc. is ever so appetizing :-).

Apparently, she's still having some bleeding issues. They are hoping that if the problem is some sort of ulcer that they Nexium will help. She's scheduled for an endoscopy tomorrow morning, so hopefully that will tell them what the problem is and they'll be able to patch Ethel up and send her home tomorrow.

She really would like to have them figure out the problem so she can go home ... Those hospital beds are not comfortable ... and she wants to be able to go home and enjoy her own home. She's ready to go for walks outside, instead of walking the halls.

She wanted you thank you all again for all of your well wishes and prayers.

Barb

Barb, Thanks for letting us know about Ethel. I am scheduled for RNY one month as of yesterday with Dr. Farrel the same surgeon who operated on Ethel. I am glad to read she is doing better.                                                                     Annie
