Hi all,  Can anyone tell me if they are having problems brushing their teeth after surgery?  I gag and get the heaves each time I brush my teeth and I have tried 6 different toothpastes now and even tried the toothbrush with nothing bu****er on it but to no avail...  Is anyone else out there having or had such a problem and if so how do i fix it?  Thank you

Wow, I haven't heard that one before.  I have heard people talking about smells and tastes that never used to bother them suddenly bothering them after surgery.  I don't know why it would make your gag reflex stronger though.  I guess you could call your doctor if that continues to be a problem. Take care. Ellen

I also experienced gagging and dry heaves when I brushed my teeth.  I am 3 months out now and have noticed this no longer happens. Good luck Joanne
