What is a Angel??

Besides the one that sits on top of the tree LOL sorry for the dumb question.. I see some people talking about them in the forums...I assume they are a friend who checks in on you?? how does a person get one??? this forum is packed with great info and great people!

It's generally a person that lives relatively close to you who can check in on you while you're at the hospital and otherwise provide support pre and post op.  You want to pick someone that you think you could trust since you'll need to give out your name and a cell number or something.  The angel will contact your family after surgery is over so they can post on the board.  Some will come visit at the hospital if they're close enough. It's all up to you how much contact you want to have with that person.  I've said before that I'd be happy to be an angel for someone having surgery at Pitt County Memorial.  No one has taken me up on it thus far, but I'm available.
