Wait Wait and wait some MORE
It will come in time. Waiting is the hardest part of this thing. I had to do a 6 month diet/exercise log thing but it still took a year from start to finish to get approved. Patience is a virtue, but not one that I have in large doses. I kept telling myself that I wanted it to be in God's timing and He'd move it along when it was time.
Take care and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your pep talk. I guess I will just have to cool my jets. I sure hope it don't take a year though. But like you say I just need to lay it in Gods hands. He will make happen what should. You have done so well...I can't wait to see you at goal. You are all ready a lovely girl but lookout world. I'll be one of your cheering squads.

Hi Barbara. The more you lose prior to surgery, the safer the surgery and recovery will be. I found it helpful to keep in mind that Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels in addition to the obvious health benefits of losing weight.
With that in mind, I would suggest replacing one meal a day with High Protein Slim Fast or other protein shake. Try to limit your sugar intake and increase your protein as well. Start taking a multi vitamin if you aren't already. Get out and walk as much as you can daily. Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. It helped me to break it down into increments. I told myself that I only had three weeks and could do anything for three weeks. As you feel you can, increase your shakes to two a day with one meal.
I don't think that Bauman requires a full liquid diet, but if he does, do your best to follow it. It really will help you deal with your head hunger issues some ahead of surgery. It is my opinion that this is best so that you can deal with some of the mental things while you're still otherwise healthy. After surgery, you'll be busy trying to recover and get the hang of your new pouch. It's good to deal with some of that before.
You absolutely CAN do this. You have come this far and overcome many hurdles to get approved. You have made the decision that this is what is best for you. All of that indicates a very strong woman who is capable of losing the weight prior to and post surgery. I'm rooting for you. Feel free to email me if you need to.
Take care.
Ellen
I know that the waiting can seem like an eternity... but I'm sure that you will get an answer from your Dr. soon. I would call them every other day to find out the status and see if there is anything else that they might need you to do.
Please keep us posted re: your progress. We are holding a space on the loser's bench just for you!
