Another off topic post - Does anybody here Kayak?
Hi Joe,
Wish we lived closer! I have 212 feet of frontage on Black River in Pender County and was introduced to kayaking last summer and LOVED it! Not white water, mind you. MUCH too old for that! But it was the most peaceful and serene thing I have done maybe ever. Felt like I had snuck into Heaven by the back door and noone had found out about it yet. Like you, I am hoping to find someone to do it with.
Good luck in your search.

Hi, At this point I would not fit into one. But what great exercise that would be and and fun also. I love the water and you have given me an inspiration. If I get to have this wls that will be top on my list of things to do. You don,t have to have moving water to paddle these things. At least I don't think you do. Think of all the wonderful lakes in this area that have public acess. Wow good idea

Hi Joe!
I don't kyack, but I have been wanting to try it out. Have you been out to the National Whitewater Center here in Charlotte? (http://www.usnwc.org/) It is not all whitewater apparently. And, I think you can rent a kayak and all the gear -- to try it out first. Let me know if you are interested in doing something like that.
