Update...

DENIED! and never even notified by my surgeons office( that ****** me off more than being denied!)

I'm so very sorry.  Did they give you the reason or are you waiting for the determination? I guess what I'm really asking is if there was something that they think you still need to do?

I can't believe that the Dr's office didn't let you know ... I believe you, just can't believe that they ....

Find out what the denial is for....most of the time it can be an easy fix and your dr's office and submit and PCR (Phycian Courtesy Review) or re-consideration and/or a peer to peer to review. This is so that you don't have use an appeal and 9.5 times out of 10 you will be approved.

I take denials personally even when they aren't mine.  I have UHC when I went through my surgery and thank goodness didn't have any problems. But w/ insurance companies they are different from case to case.

Oh Wendy, I hate to hear that!!!  Please don't give up -- find out what they want you to do and DO IT!!  I hope things work out for you.   I'm so sorry.

Wendy, First off, I'm so sorry.  Second, is it OK if I'm not quite as politically correct as everyone else...F#$% 'em!!!  I feel better, don't you?  You can say it with me if you like...F#$% 'em!!!  Seriously though, don't get down on yourself.  This is absolutely not your fault.  You did nothing wrong and there are things you can do.  You can appeal to the Insurance Co, to the State and anybody else you can think of.  It will happen and you've already come so far, don't let some little turd in a cubicle determine how you feel about yourself. you rock and we all care about you very much. joe
