Three Month Follow Up Appt

I went today for my three month follow up with Dr. Chapman.  He was very pleased with my progress and said that I should have no trouble meeting the 100 pound mark by my six month visit.  He said that some people stall like I did, and not to worry.  I have lost 65 pounds in three months.  He said that I should be "compulsive" about three things; measuring my food, exercise, and vitamins.  If I do that, he guarantees that I'll succeed.  He also said that I'm eating a little too much at meals, and too quickly.  They like you to be at 1/4 to 1/2 a cup at 3 months out and I'm more like 1/2 to 3/4 a cup, even a cup if it's soup or something.  He said to go back to measuring and that will correct that. So that's it in a nutshell.  Measure your food and eat shlowly!  Again, I reiterate, I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon. Take care all. Ellen

Ellen Congratulations on a great follow up! You are an inspiration to us. My surgeon told me the same thing about measuring food, exercise, & vitamins and said the successful ones are the ones who do these things! I'm sure you will succeed! Julie

Thanks Julie.  It seems that this is all about being aware of what you're taking in.  Time to be more diligent!  Good luck with your upcoming surgery! Take care. Ellen

Yay!  I saw a lady once that had a t-shirt that she'd had made.  She had a picture of herself at her highest weight and the caption, "Never Again!"  I'm not sure I'd wear that everywhere, but thought it was a neat idea. Take care. Ellen

Thanks Wendy!  I think that's what this site is so good for, sharing tips, not medical advice.  I like to learn what others have tried and what works.  How's the new job coming? Take care. Ellen
