Great Surgery Experience

Hi everyone, My surgery went exceptionally well on Wednesday.  I am home now.  As a matter of fact I was discharged Thursday afternoon.  I paid for a nearby hotel for my momma and daughter (So that they could be near the hospital) so we spent Thursday night at the hotel and checked out of the hotel this morning.   I haven't had any pain medicine since around 8 am  yesterday morning. I am sore from the surgery but not in pain.  I do have the occasional gas pain.  The hospital staff told me to walk through it, although sometimes, I can't move through the gas pain.  I guess the gas pains would be my only complaint. I have been trying to get my fluids in.  It has been somewhat difficult because I don't want anything.  I mean absolutely nothing.  My mom and daughter had McDonalds for supper last night and it didn't phase me one bit.  I look at food and I just don't want it.  I have a bottle of Crystal light beside me right now and I just don't want it. But all in all, so far so good.  I am just so glad to be home. Alex

Alex-  That's Great news!  Please be careful and try your hardest to get your fluids in, it is very easy to become dehydrated and that could land you back in the hospital. I'm not trying to scare you, just looking out for a fellow WLS friend! Take Care and keep us posted!

Congratulations Alex!  I'm so glad your surgery experience was so good.  I agree with the others that liquids are important right now, do what you can to drink.  Keep on walking, not only will it help with the pain, but it will also keep clots from forming in your legs. Please keep us informed, we love to cheer people on. Take care. Ellen

Own it all, it's yours!
