Not feeling so sure.......

Talk about getting down to the wire! My surgery is scheduled for this Thurs. and I still do not have UHC approval. I have been calling EVERY day 2-4 times! I had my pre-op with my surgeon, Dr. Moran, today and the office told me that they can only wait until noon for approval before they have to reschedule me.   I have been hoping for the best and doing everything to get ready for Thurs. Caught up on all of my laundry, cleaned the house top to bottom, worked in my gardens, went and got my nails and a pedicure today, bought new pj's  today (gotta look presentable at the hospital - LOL), and some new little slipper socks with rubber treads.   I called UHC last at 7:45p our time, they close at 8. Still no approval. I've called so many times they recognize my voice, now that's sad! We actually carry on conversations, I might need to just keep calling them after I'm approved just so they don't miss me LOL   So, now the gloominess has set in! I feel defeated. I know it's silly considering all that so many of you have gone through. But, went your sailing along and the sun is shining... it's hard not to get upset when a 40 ft. wave comes along and crashes into you. Little dramatic I know, throwing myself a pity party.   On top of all of this I just got a new job and was actually supposed to start today but, they just set up my pre-op yesterday. I called work and explained to them the situation and they were fine with it because I had told them when I interviewed and then again when I excepted the job about my upcoming surgery. I just hate to have to keep changing things around with them or risk losing the job before I even start. ARG!   Enough - thanks for listening/reading my rant. I'll update my status by noon tomorrow.

Oh how frustrating for you! I would be going nuts. I will be anxiously waiting to see if you get approved in time and I will be praying that you do. Beth

Wendy......Just try to breathe and stay calm.......if for some reason you have to be rescheduled...try to remember..that you still get to have the surgery. When you think about it that way maybe it will help....a few more days v/s never isn't too  bad........Just trying to help you find the silver lining of the cloud.....IF you even need it. BTW....how did you have your nails done? They asked me to remove all polish from my toes and nails at the hospital.......Hang in there girl!! =0)

I could get denied?! I might not just be waiting on approval, what if I'm just waiting on being denied?  Anyhow, I got a French manicure and pedicure.......they can still see your nail beds. Your not allowed opaque polish because they watch your nail beds for capillary refill, basically so that they can see that you still have blood circulation in your hands and feet. O' see young grasshopper! LOL

OMG! It's hard enough to wait weeks/months for approval, but HOURS??? I don't blame you for getting a bit freaked out. Did you explain to insurance company the situtation? (Not that it would help, probably.) Maybe if doctor called? Dunno... Geesh! I'll be praying for you and will check back later to see a post from you saying "I'VE BEEN APPROVED!" Good luck, my friend! Wendy to get the quickest approvals your doctor's office should have called in your case and gotten a ref#. Normally you are approved w/ 24 - 48 hours of it being called it. If they didn't call it in they want have a ref#. So call them and ask for the ref#. It's strange for them UHC to take so long.... Hang in there girl!

The office does have a ref # and they gave it to me for my milions of calls to UHC.  Just waiting it out now!
