11 DAYS OUT.. BUT I HAD TO DO IT

Diane, There you are!  I finally got to read some post online and I didn't see a post from you.  You are doing fantastic...OMG I hope I do as well. You were right...Dr. Farrell is wonderful.  He spent about an hour with me telling me about everything and answering my questions and I think I'm ready for Thursday.   I'm nervous as all heck but I'm ready.  My job is my only panic right now.  It is our year end and I have a bunch of reports to get out and I'm thinking...wow, I only have 2 1/2 days this work week to get it all done!  I'll probably be working some really late hours.   Wednesday I go in for the artery filter thing.  Was that a big deal?  Were you put to sleep?  Any pain involved afterward? This is way too much to think about!   Anyway I wanted to stop by and say hello and tell you congratulations on 55lbs GONE FOREVER! 

Hi Ethel, Dr. Mendez did the filter and they gave me some kind of wonderful drug that put me in la la land.  I remember saying omg that is wonderful, can I have one more for the road?.... lol.. the nurse said no.  You will like Dr. Mendez as well.  He is talkative and down to earth.  He's not hard to look at either!  :)  I was wondering if you'd make it to the support group meeting on the 26th... but somehow I doubt it!  You are in good hands and can go to this surgery with every confidence in your surgeon and his staff.  I even had a private room!  I am so happy for you.  I went to see our NUT, Susannah Price.   She is great and so very helpful.  I am almost down 60 lbs now (56 to be exact)  my goal is 20 more lbs by my 3 month check up on July 23.  I'll be down 75 lbs!  It is amazing how great I feel. How did you make it 11 days???? I'm gonna buy a scale on the way home from the hospital. OK maybe not... that's gonna be 150 mile ride! Good job on meeting your first mini goal... and whipping it's @$$!

Congratulations Traci!  I couldn't wait either, you're not alone.  Unfortunately, I weigh nearly daily now which means I get to see all the fluctuations.  I'm not sure if that's good or not, but I do it.  Keep up the good work! Take care. Ellen

Hi Tiffany. I, too, am from Monroe and I drive to Concord to see my doctor, Dr. Roc Bauman.  I am anticipating LapBand Surgery hopefully in July or early August.  My daughter had Bypass surgery in February, and is losing well.  I believe that there is a weight support group in Monroe that meets on a Tues. night at  our local hospital.  Have you heard about that?  If not, let me know and I will try to get more information to you.   Barbara G.
