New here and so excited
I am new here and to the whole process so forgive me if I sound dumb. I am trying to learn all I can. I saw my doctor yesterday after lots of research on weight loss surgery. She asked me what was up and I said I have been going to Weigh****chers and trying other things for 22 years and I just can't do it. I feel bad and need help. She said well I think it's time to send you to see my surgeon! I knew my doctor had lost a lot of weight but I sure didn't know she had surgery last November! Her surgeon is the one I had been interested in and my insurance says I will be covered. I don't have approval for sure but my doctor said it won't be a problem with my health history. I am so excited and can't wait to hear back from my doctor. She said I don't need to do anything until I hear from her. She did tell me there will be a meeting I will go to on a Thursday night and she even offered to go with me.
Its great that you have the support of your prmary care physician. I have heard too many stories where the opposite was true. Make sure you bring a pen to take notes at your first meeting, and I would reccomend bringing any support peoople like a spouse or child with you because they will have tons of questions too. Good luck, and when you have more questions after the meeting, feel free to seek out the answers here.
