Finally Good news!!!

well after waiting for months and months. of being sick. my doctor put in the refurrel for gastric bypass surg. i finally got the letter from my inserance and it was approved so Happyand i called and made my appointment for the classes for july 5th at 10 ....wow this is so much fun. but yet i'm sared as hell.......what do they do at this first class can anyone tell me what is to come up after this???? thanks Donna

HI Donna.  I can't speak to what Southern Surgical does at their meetings exactly, but it will probably be a general information seminar.  They'll go over the risks, benefits, and the procedure itself.  They'll probably address different insurance issues as well.  Sounds like you have a WLS friendly insurance company!  After the class, they'll schedule you for some tests.  EKG, psych eval, blood work, etc.  Beyond that, it sort of depends on your doctor.  Please let us know how it goes. The other doctor in Greenville does not require an upfront fee.  I used him for my surgery and thought he was wonderful, his name is Dr. Chapman.  Drs.  MacDonald and Naziri are very good as well.  No matter which one you go with, you'll be in good hands.  It doesn't hurt to meet more than one and decide who you like better.  Each doctor's philosophy is a little different.
