So embarrassing but I have time.
I go for my last appointment before surgery next Friday and I have gained 6 pounds. I don't feel like I've been eating more but I weighed on two different scales and sure enough I'm up. I keep saying I'm going to eat "light" and count calories but I end up blowing it. My docs nurse said he will cancel the surgery if I have gained. I'm so scared. I have two weeks and I know I HAVE to do this. No more tomorrow I'll be better. Tomorrow is here. He doesn't require a liquid diet but I'm thinking I'll go ahead and do that and maybe I'll drop these pounds. I have come too far to have this thing cancelled.

Jennifer,
I would go ahead with the liquid diet if it was me. You should be able to loose the 6 lbs by doing that. YOU HAVE COME TO FAR TO HAVE IT ALL FALL APART NOW!!!!!!!!!! You can do this!!!! Good luck to you.

Donna

Try atkins diet low carb high proteins and lots of water and do some walking , I change the way I was eating 5 months before my surgery and I dropped 18 lbs , my weight was 279.6 and before my surgery was 261 lbs , what they want to do is shrink your liver so it will be easy to perform the surgery without the risk of injuring your liver.Good luck hope it works, keep me posted.
hey I drank 4 slim fast a day for liquid diet. If you can just drink 4 a day you should be able to lose that by friday ----- is it this comming friday or next. Even if its this i think youll be good. I had gained some weight too 10 lbs......but it took me a year to get all my pre work done. I was afraid too that they were going to cancel but I told my dr that I would lose the weight by surgery. See my dr submits insurance then schedules a date so by my last appointment I was down 14 lbs... Just try the slimfast It worked for me....hope this helps ---carol.
Go for it girl! I was on an 800-1000 cal diet for two months prior to surgery and lost 40 pounds. I tracked protein grams, fat grams, and water, as well as calories. I went from 396 to 356. It was a great learning experience for me in terms of making sure I got in at least 60 g of protein, etc. I Lost ten pounds in the first two weeks. Use whatever program is going to give you the best bang for your buck. You can do it!
Surgery buddy! You'd better "get-r-done"! I will need you that day!
Janell told me they like us to try to lose prior to surgery, as it makes the procedure easier, but she did not mention canceling if I gained. My pre-op appt is the 22nd also, I have started the Special K diet, it promises 6lbs. in 2 weeks. 2 meals of Special K, fruits and veggies, and one regular meal. I am also drinking water like crazy. I feel ya on the eating; I have been eating like I will never see this food again. (I am hoping I won't!)
Btw, did you find out what time your pre-op on the 26th is? Mine is at 7:30am

Hey bud! I'm doing it. I am down 3 lbs. But I can gain 3 lbs overnight.
I'm being very careful not to overdo it. I think I'll start with the water tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.
Have you gained? I just remember Moran saying he has cancelled before for gaining.
I will ask about the pre-op tomorrow too. WoW 7:30 in Louisburg? That is early. Did they say how long it would take? Are you believing we only have 14 days...
