I am home
Thank you for all your support. And Carol thanks for the calls. Ellen I am sorry I didn't get back with you. It would of been fine to see. I really appreciate all the concern. Now that I am home I still go from walking to feeling like I was run over if i lay down. The hot flashes keep coming. I did start my period in the hospital but it was time to anyways so hormonally I am all out of wack. My hospital experiance was good though I don't like moraphine espically if you use to much. It about made me worse feeling wise I guess becasue i used to much. Almost gave the panic attack. For those that don't have pain you are blessed. I found boost too sweet and nauseating. My husband got me ensure banana and choc and strawberry and I already had some butter pecan. It is not as heavey, metalic and sweet as the boost. I find I can't drink much fast at all or I cramp and get hot flashes. I guess I am a newby. I didn't throw up though I wanted to. When the pain medicines kicked in I walked and walked untill I could pick up a good pace. Needless to say I never passed gass but it did slowly go down and went somewhere. It is amazing how one moment I feel great and the next like **** On my first morning after when I was walking past the nurses lounge they had 4 boxes of crispy creams. It honestly did not interest me. Later that afternoon I walked by just as the dominos guy came around the corner with 4 great smelling pizza's..THey smelled good but I wasn't interested. Not at this point. At this point I am only interest in water, water and finding a comfortable position to rest. It has taken me till today to be able to lay partially back with tolerable discomfort. Need not tell you how my neck feels. The strange thing is my eye sight is really wackey or blurry. Must be the meds. I will try to go outside and wak this evening when it cools off. Once again thank you all of you for your support and thoughts and calls, what a truely blessed place to find carring friends. One not please excuse my spelling I am on drugs!!

I'm glad you're home and doing okay. I had a terrible time finding a shake I could live with for the first two weeks. Ensure was too thick, Boost was just plain nasty. Eventually I managed to force down the strawberry Boost. I did some Slim Fast, which sat on my stomach better, but they really didn't want me to use that, I guess it didn't have enough calories. Anyway, it's all good now.
The pain gets better. Keep walking it really helps with so much. Please keep us posted.
Take care.
Ellen

Glad you are home where you can really start on the road to recovery! Being a pre-oper, I can't say that each day will get better but from listening to all the post-oper's, they say it does so hang in there!! Good luck! Hugs, Donna
