News on BarbaraC

I just spoke to Barbara's husband Ben.  First Ben asked me to thank all of yall for the prayers!  Barbara had a rough day yesterday.  He said it took them 1-1/2 hrs to get her pain under control.  Barb will be in ICU for today and tomorrow to monitor her for infection.  The surgeon had to remove an inch of her colon in order to repair it.  For those who don't know, when the surgeon made the first incision, he severed her colon.  Ben said the surgeon told him he's done 1,000 of these surgeries and this is only the second time this has happened.  Barbara is feeling much better today!  I am going to see her tomorrow when she is feeling a little stronger.  There are no phones for her in ICU and no cell phones allowed in the hospital.  So tomorrow I will give you another update after I have visited. Hey Diane, thanks for the update.  I have been thinking about her and praying for her all day today.  That must have been so scary for her husband (and her too, of course!).  Please let her know that we are all thinking of her and sending our best to her when you get to visit.  Thanks again!! Please tell Barbara we are thinking of her. She is so thoughtful and checks on everyone's recovery and it's our turn to check on her. I feel so close to her because we started this journey around the same time. You are a doll to go and see her tomorrow. Tell her I am praying for her to come through this with flying colors.

Thanks for keeping us all informed. Poor Barbara. She was a little apprehensive going in. I will keep her and all our OH sisters in my prayers. Looking forward to hearing that she's doing well.  Mare
