Manya, did you lose weight before your surgery?  You have lost a lot to be only one week out.  Barbara

Barbara, I lost about 21 pounds prior to surgery.  I went to see Dr. Enochs in March and he told me the more I can cut back on sugar and junk food now the easier it will be after the band.  So I did.  I stopped the ice cream and all the sugary snacks.  I had to do the psych evaluation and realized I had a BIG emotional eating problem.  I went back to her weekly for about 4 weeks, that was SO helpful.  I just started losing the weight.   I have only lost about 6 pounds since surgery. Let me introduce myself, seems like you guys and gals already are pretty familiar with each other. My mame is Stephanie. I live in Lenoir, NC. I am going through the process as we speak. I will be going through Frye Regional , and will be seeing Drs. Leland Cook and Monty Cox. Anyone know them?? I have heard great things about their program. It is encouraging to hear so many that have been approved through BCBSNC. That is who I have. Keeps me hopeful. I am like (I can't remember which lady) who's BMI isn't above 40, but I have hypertension as well as some degree of sleep apnea and the regular knee/back pain associated with excess weight. There is a vast array of medical problems that run in my family, such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease and arthritis, so I am hopeful that the things I am at risk of developing will help get me approved. My mom had the Gastric Bypass 2+  years ago and to date has lost about 90 pounds, which has helped her mobility greatly. (she has severe rheumatoid and osteo-arthritis.) I am so excited for you Lori!! You along with all the hopeful "Losers"  will be continually in my prayers. Take care! Stephanie
