Part 2..Wednesday I become a LOSER
First thankyou everyone for your support.......
I went to the doctors today for my last check up, blood works, and repeats of xrays, since my doctors file keepers have some sort of systems that didn't include keeping track on files just laying around, had to be updated because they were just over 6 months old. BIG ADVICE...Do not assume the doctor got the fax without following up with a call and conformation it is indeed in your folder. SAME FOR xrays or reports done else where that were suposesive sent even if they give you a conformation they sent it to your doctor.. Do not ASSUME becasue you know they have everything that it is getting worked up by someone and sent to the Insurance company. DO NOT Wait a whole month without contact from them thinking everything has been done. My advice by my experiance is check weekly and ask for conformation. Make them get your file. This happened with my disabilty insurance claims forms my employer ask to have done before I leave. I called 10 days after I had faxed them to the doctors office with directions and was told they did not have them. It took two more faxes that day (4 days ago) to get them sent again. TOday at the doctors they apologized again becasue someone already had them to the doctor, signed and was faxing them back. Obiviously this is a big "operation" meaning staffing, personell and proceedures and whose responsible for what. So I suggest Not only do you reasearch the procedure but write down the names and dates who you talk to and what about. Find out who you need to be talking to and who is handling your file. THese people are handling hundreds of patients. Don't be rude and try to be patient and understanding as agrivating as it can be. I left ECU hospital at 3 this afternoon and actually had arrived there at 8:30am (Carol I missed You) and had not had anything in my belly since 7 the night before. My husband had the nevrve to leave me by afternoon to go find a sandwich for his belly. He said he couldn't find a Slim fast on the cart of some young guy that was going building to building peddling sandwiches and chips. My husband has a life threating sense of humor these days. One thing is for sure I still worry in the back of my mind, is this right, will I have complications. The other thing is if I ever gain my weight back I know for a fact I WILL NOT drink Slim Fast. I had only lost 6 pounds in a week and a half. Of course I should be starting my period any time and I am retaining fluid but I know I must have the most reduced liver out there at this point. SIX POUNDS!! Somthings wrong there. Anywho Just another day. I work tomorrow call my doctor and get my time. Wake up Wednesday go to Greenville ask for drugs and wake up a LOSER!!!! I so can't wait to be a month out and say now what was so bad about all of that. Silly me...
Wishing you a safe and uncomplicated surgery.

I had to do all of my pre-op workups twice. I wondered why they were in such a hurry to get it all done at my first appointment. Turns out, by the time I was ready for my surgery, everything was "timed out" since it was over six months old. I had to do all the x-rays, blood work, ekgs, etc. I'm usually pretty patient, but having to pay my co-insurance twice pissed me off pretty much.
Anyway, good luck with your surgery tomorrow. If you need anything I'm 10 minutes from PCMH, if you want my cell number , email me and I'll send it to you. Please let us know how you're feeling as soon as you feel up to it.
Take care.
