16 months post-op, just moved to NC
Hi everyone!
My family just relocated to NC from FL. We're currently living in Sanford. It's waaaaaay different up here then Ft Lauderdale but so far I really do like it.
My husband and I both had RNY 16 months ago. Together we've lost 495 lbs. It's been a journey like you would never believe. The best decision that we've ever made in our lives.
I thourally enjoy the message boards and hope to meet some new friends here.

Thank you Nancy!
I'll be happy to give anyone advice that I can. Although these days I feel I need it more than I need to give it, lol.
Actually, I don't know what NC state medicaid covers, but as we had no health insurance and FL medicaid stinks, we travelled to Mexico for our surgeries. If anyone needs any advice on this, I'm more than happy to help.

Welcome Bridget!!! My family and I moved here to NC from VA about 13 years ago. It was huge adjustment at first but now we really like it. Wow - 495 lbs - what an accomplishment!! Congrats to you and your hubby! Please post often as sometimes this board can be a little slow!
Hugs,
Donna

Hi Donna, thanks for the welcome. We're adjusting just fine, thankfully. My kids are only 4 and 5 so it's easy on them. My daughter doesn't start public school until this fall, so we wanted to make the big move before she started. I think we're going to be very happy here. Now I'd be happy if I could just lose the last 35 lbs.... *sigh*

Hi Briget,
I used to live in Sanford. I moved with my company about 1.5 years ago. How long have you lived there? Have you found a church? My home church is still in Sanford. Vineyard Assembly of God in Tramway is a great church. I miss my church family so much. They will take good care of you there. Where abouts do you live in Sanford? I lived on Pickard Rd off of Hwy 42. Take care,
Diane
Hi Diane!
We live in Owls Nest. Do you know where that is? It's right off US1 about a block north of Tramway. I think, lol. We've only been here 3 weeks, so I'm still getting my bearings.
Thanks about the church. We're not very religious. Although, I see a church on almost every corner up here, so I see it's a big part of the community life.
