Are there any support groups that meet in Jacksonville?

Hi all, I am a new RNY surgery survivor. I am one week out now, and doing ok. I would like to know though if there are any groups that meet in Jax or if there are individuals that maybe meet and walk on the weekends or anything like that? Thanks and take care.....Kelli

Hey Kelli, I'm Nancy and I'm from Jax. too.  I think we're the only ones from this town here....or at least what I've seen.  I am trying to get Lapband from a Dr. in Charlotte.  I went to Dr. Harris and liked him a lot, but decided not to go RNY.  I have a good friend here who did go to him and she's a couple years out and swears by him.  A girl that posts here says they might be starting a support group down by Wilmington, but I wish there was one closer. I don't know what I'm going to do for groups once I'm banded.  I live in the Northwoods area btw.  Keep in touch and get tha****er in!!! ~~~~~Hugs, Nancy

It's going ok, I just have a few more appointments.  I keep starting and stopping the process...I was confused as to if I really want to do this.  But I have decided to just go for it, it is really a life change.  I don't even know why my mind goes back and forth over it.  Oh well, I guess its all apart of the process.  I have FED BCBS so I do expect a quick approval, hopefully.  If all goes well I could have a August date.  (I'm assuming because I know he is booked up so I think August).   Kisha
