Actually, I like chicken, but every time I eat it, I throw up. Crossing that off my list of acceptable things to eat. *sigh* ~Ellen

Turkey used to make me throw up. I remember eating 1/2 piece toasted wheat bread, low fat cheese and turkey breast and thew it all up. Yuck. I love Chicken, but I hate cooking. Your picture looks great, almost 2 months post op? My body doesn't like bread.

I can eat turkey, as long as it's either in low fat gravy or sliced really thin (deli style). Chicken, no matter how I prepare it makes me barf. I don't know if it's too dry or if it has something in it that sets me off. I don't mind cooking, it's the cleaning up that I hate. Thanks for the kind words, yep, I'll be 7 weeks on Wednesday. I have no idea how much I've lost, I've been in a sort of stall for a time. I know they're normal, but patience isn't one of my virtues. My body doesn't like bread either. It gets caught and I get uncomfortable. Bread isn't the best kind of carb anyway. If I'm going to eat carbs I'd like them to be worth it. Whole grains, veggies, fruits, stuff like that. I never thought I'd see the day I craved salad, but here recently I do. Take care. ~Ellen

Ellen, I discovered early on that I couldn't eat breast meat but I could eat thigh meat. I think it was something to do with the hormones the put in the breast meat. I was about 9 months out before I could eat chicken breast. Shannon

Thanks for the info. It could be the hormones, breast is all I've been eating. I do know that breast meat is dry, maybe that's why it bothers me so much. I will give it another go later on, but for now it's on the "uh-uh" list. Take care. ~Ellen

I've heard this a lot about chicken. Too bad because I love chicken. I think I'll steer clear of it for a while ... maybe a loonnnggggg while after

Wow!  I was thinking I'd probably get packs of chicken breast and cutting them up and cooking small portions.  I guess I don't know what I will eat.  I can't wait.  I am not looking forward to barfing though.  I guess I will take it easy trying what my body will "like" after surgery.  Ellen, I am so happy for you.  I hope you stay well.   Stacy

Funny enough I attended the Support Group at CMC tonight and the inability to eat chicken was a hot topic.  Although, I have to admit that I felt like you.. I thought chicken would be the way to go.  Obviously not!
