Dr Harris
Thanks for correcting me, Kisha. I never want to give inaccurate info. When I had my first consult with Dr. Harris in March, I was told he didn't do Lapband. (A member of his staff told me, not doctor himself.) Which was fine. I want RNY. There seems to be alot of "changes" in his office and policy...or special procedures and costs, it seems. Kisha, you were also quoted different costs for nutritionist and psych eval than I was also. Just seems like alot of fluctuation in policies and costs. Perhaps they base it on whatever insurance we have? Dunno...
Anyway, have a great week.

Most everyone accepts Tricare becuase it's the goverment insurance. Good Luck!!!!
Also please don't let a surgeon tell you what they this is good for you unless you have a medical problem that they say you should only have one over another. It is your choice what you want.
Good Luck w/ your search for a doc and everything that goes along w/ preparing for surgery.
He did not dictate which one you should have. He recommends the RNY because it has been in use longer and all the effects of it are known. The lapband has just been accepted within the last 5 years. Either one can get your results, I sure when the lapband has been in use for a longer period of time it may not be a debate about which method is best. It's a personal choice and also about what you and your insurance can afford or will approve.
