Well it has been 4 weeks now and still at same weight. I am truly trying to be patient, but it is so discouraging. If my body thinks it is staving, maybe I should feed it. Maybe some biscuits and gravy. (just joking.) I just feel like I am losing valuable time. Everyone says to be patient and it will start again . I hope you all are right.

Back away from the biscuits and gravy and no one will get hurt!!! LOL!!! I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. I haven't had my surgery yet so I really can't offer any advice but I do know how hard it is to be patient when you really want to see results. Just keep doing what you are supposed to do and I'm sure the weight will start falling off again very soon. Hang in there and know we are here for you if you need to vent! Well, I gotta run. For some strange reason I am suddenly craving biscuits and gravy! Hhhmmm. . . Hugs, Donna

I know your discouragement. I stalled at about 1 1/2 month. Lost only 3 or 4 pounds for about a month. The it started shedding pretty good. Give it one more week. I am saying a prayer for you right now. Stay strong. Diane B.

Geri, Have you talked to your doctor about it? Maybe they would have a suggestion on how to get things started again. How long ago did you have surgery? From what everyone on the board says this happens to almost everyone and then one day, bamm, the weight starts falling off again. I hear all the time that people say that protein is the key. More protein, more exercise and that seems to put them back on track. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I write down little things that people say to try and remember what worked for them. Good luck and keep us posted. LBS will start dropping off again.

Hi Geri- Which WLS did you have? I'm guessing that you had the Lap-Band. I'm pre-op for the band so I can not tell you anything from my experience but I think that 41lbs is a great amout of weight lost. Your body probably is making adjustments to a lower food/caloric intake. I believe that if you stay positive and continue to eat properly you'll see the scale move. Have you been monitoring your measurements? I bet they have changed. Now, remember I'm pre-op so you may be repeating the same support to me soon! Best Wishes -Wendy

Hi Geri, You had your surgery the day after I did. I also, have stalled on my weight loss. It is gotten to the point that I am getting rid of the scale I bought last wee****rtainly feel lighter, however, that could be all in my head. I have read that plateau's are a normal part of weight loss; where the body catches up with rapid weight loss. I will be happy to get rid of this scale and go back to weighing myself twice a month at the nurses' station at work. Diane

Geri, I am 7 weeks out, and I have been stalled for 2 or 3 weeks now. I am not totally sure how long because my scale isn't accurate, but I know it hasn't moved for what seems like forever. I will say this, even though it hasn't moved, I've lost 45 pounds since surgery, and I can definitely see it in my body and face. They say that when you stall you lose inches, just not pounds so much, and I have lost inches. I do know I'm retaining a lot of water and I don't know how that's affecting all of this, or why I am. Keep up your exercise, increase it or change what you do some. Lift weights if you aren't, walk if you aren't, just try something different. Try increasing your protein some and watch to see that you aren't eating more carbs than you think you are. Also, increase your water as much as possible. I'm getting 50 ounces a day and hoping to increase to 64 today. Just keep doing what you know you should, and the weight loss will start again. Take care and let us know what happens. ~Ellen
