about 15 month ago I looked into GBPS with dr paul carter in fayetteville nc. I have lupus other than the many tests medicade requires and the lupus flares there was the only hold up. Well to make a long story short I was sick for a long time about 4 months ago the lupus let up a little and I called dr. carters office to scheudle and was told because I had medicade and medicare medicare was my primary ins and had to come up with 1500.00 cash. I just don't under stand that is the reason the state gave medicade so it would cover everything medicare doesn't I was broken hearted help if anyone has info to help or docs that don't charge this money or who has had surgery that has medicare and medicade if you had to pay out of pocket.: ' (

hey the brody center in greenville nc does medicade well i know a couple of people that have medicade that have had there surgery there the number is 252 744 2018. Also a friend of mine got hers done through the local vocational rehab center in our area ( beaufort county). She had no insurance and they paid for everything so she could continue to work.... maybe you could look into that and ask around in your town.... thanks Carol.

The thing with having Medicaid to help cover Medicare is that Medicaid pays GREAT... if it's your primary, not so well if it's secondary. I still don't see how it would have left you with so much out of pocket. That boggles the mind! I don't know if Medicare cover the nutritionist, but Medicaid covers everything but that and any seminar fees. All I have had to pay are my copays and my nutritionist. Oh, let me not forget the $25 for the shrink to write my 5 line paragraph for my evaluation! Rip Off Artist! Good Luck. You will find the surgeon that is perfect for you!
