Car accident!

Hi everyone, Let me just start out by saying everyone is OK. My husband and I were out yesterday looking at the state parks for camping. We were traveling on 98 in Durham when BAHM! We never saw it coming. This guy came out of a parking lot and hit us on the drivers side front wheel panel,and must have recoiled and then hit us in the back. This guy came FLYING out of the parking lot to gain up enough speed to push us across a hole intersection and almost into a car waiting to turn at the signal. The thing that most upsets me about this accident is the man driving was from Mexico with no current NC driver license or identification AND was drinking! His level wasn't high enough, just .01 under! I tried to get the sheriff to take him for blood samples for drugs but the sheriff explained how screwed up our legal system is and it wouldn't do any good. Thank goodness the car he was driving wasn't his and it is insured. So my poor 05' Toyota Highlander is waiting at the dealer for the insurance adjuster to look at it. Thank goodness we have rental car on our insurance, even though this is all going through his insurance since he was the cause of the accident. Anyhow, sorry for rambling...just not looking forward to car ins. stuff when I've got so much going on with my WLS! Thanks for listening Wendy

Wendy, so sorry to hear about your accident but thank GOD you and your family are safe. What a jerk is all I can say, driving drunk and no license. When will they ever learn? I dont understand how they get away with so much in this country. They really need to go back to their own country. We have enough drunk drivers here as it is we dont need MORE. I get so frustrated when I hear this kind of thing happening and what do they get for it ? a slap on the wrist. They should be arrested and put away for awhile till they learn they cant come into this country and drive without a license and think they can do what ever they want and not go by our laws like everyone else. sorry but It just gets me Mad as hell . I'm glad no one was hurt. I live off HWY 98. I'm just curious, what parking lot was he pulling out of? Good luck with all the insurance stuff.

We were coming down 98 towards wake forest and the accident was at the intersection on Sharon Rd. & 98. He was coming out of the little mexican bar there with the gas station. What sucks so bad is that we RARELY ever go down that way! Thanks for the luck! Wendy

Glad to hear your ok. Get a lawyer, you want to represent yourselves and get what's fair. I am not sue happy but I have found it very difficult to resolve my car accident without the lawyer. Do you have MEdPay on your insurance, it will cover you medical costs that are no covered by regular insurance. I am very defensive over my car.
