Cross your fingers!

Hi all. I have been lurking but not posting. Not sure why but glad to be back. It has been almost 3 months since my first meeting with Dr. Moran at the information session. I am now waiting for BCBS to approve me. I have been waiting for a week and I called yesterday and they said it could take up to 30 days... I sure hope not. How long is the average wait from submitting to approval? Jennifer

Hi Jennifer - Glad to see you back! I do a lot of reading also on the boards, sometimes it's hard to post because a lot of times people are asking for advice post-op. I know that once (if) I get banded I'll have plenty of day to day questions. Hopefully soon you and I will be on the bench. I hope you get word soon from BCBS. I have the last of my appointments this week, Wed. being my last. Then it will just be a matter of the office getting all the papers together to submit. We could be banded about the same time?! Hi Jennifer, It sure is good to see you back! I'm glad things are moving along nicely for you. The average time for approval is about 2 weeks. Some less, some a little longer. but I'm betting you will hear something this week. Many blessings, Diane

I am in NC and BCBS approved my at the suregical consult. I had all the test and paperwork in order. I also went to a center of excellence so all the surgeon had to do was say I was a good candidate! The average wait can be from a few days to weeks no longer than a month! You check in with them after a few days! Good Luck! My surgery is 5-29-07 PLease pray! Labugmom Lynn

Hi Jennifer, I am also going to Dr. Moran and have BCBS PPO. Did BCBS tell you 30 days, or Janell? Because she told me to only takes about a week for BCBS. I have finished all my testing with the exception of the Pulmonary Dr., which is this week. Have you gotten your surgery date yet? ***Crossing fingers for you!***** Lori

Lori, BCBS told me up to 30 days but she gave me a pre-cert confirmation # and told me to call next week. I'm calling Monday.... Thanks for the finger crossing! Jennifer

The average wait is too long! lol Call them back every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Just kidding, but don't you just feel like it?? I'm doing the Chicken Dance for you! Good luck! Shawana
