3 Months POST OP...
Today was my three month anniversary. I have lost almost exactly 60 pounds so far.
Most of the medical problems are far behind me now it seems. I still get a very upset stomach sometimes, like right now for instance. Sometimes ill eat the same foods that Ive eaten before and it will be quite painful. Im still a little too afraid to eat in a public place. I dont want to get sick in front of 30 strangers.
I dont really get very hungry anymore. I used to have head hunger more than anything but it isnt anything like it used to be.
I have really started to notice the weight loss in MY EYES of all places. There are wrinkles under my eyes now that were never there before. I am in my late 30s and it always stroked my ego when people would guess my age as mid 20s. Now I am really looking my age. I assume this will alleviate itself once Ive lost more weight right?
My body fat percentage stands at 36% now. Three months ago it was 49%.
I am still consistently dehydrated, although I drink as much as twice what I have to drink. My body is 46% water, and 60% is considered the absolute minimum for men.
A few weeks ago I started losing weight very fast and dropped almost 30 pounds in just a few days. Im pretty sure thats where the water went.
Congratulations on your successes!
Your dehydration might be due in some part to your overall reduced intake of food. A great deal of what we eat has a significant moisture content. When you reduce your intake of the foods, you are also reducing your fluid intake. So even though you are drinking more, you probably aren't getting as much fluid as you are used to.
Also dehydration really affects your skin. You may find that as you re-hydrate the appearance of the wrinkles you are seeing under your eyes might soften. I know most guys don't use lotion, but if you'll use some after your shower while your face is still damp you'll see a difference ... it's one of those "tricks" us girls have been using for years. It makes a huge difference on my husband.
Keep up the good work.
All the best on your journey to good health.

Congratulations on your weight loss! 60 pounds in 3 months is fantastic! You should be very proud of yourself and the work you've done. I'm having dehydration issues too. If I get in 64 oz of water a day, I'm okay, but when I don't, I have fainting spells. It was getting embarrassing because I looked drunk all the time. Let us know how it goes.
Take care

My skin was pretty young looking while i was fatter. I noticed some tiny wrinkles here and there but nothing like some year old girls have.
I'm glad you are doing so well. The scary thing about WLS is that you are giving up total control of your boyd and allowing it to take over.
As for getting sick, have you tried gas-x. I've had to have several surgeries recently and find that i get alot of gas now. Try it, it might help, if not it won't hurt that's for sure.
