4 Months Update & Pictures Posted
Hey, everyone. It's good to see more action on this NC board - I know we're all busy, but these boards are really life-lines for a lot of folks, so I'm gonna try to be more available and do better with my postings.
It's been a little more than 4 months since my surgery and I've done remarkably well! I've lost 75 lbs. and several clothing sizes! I started in a 24W and am now wearing 16's and some 14's! It's also been crazy with the way I've NOT been sweating! In previous years, when the temperatures reached 80 degrees - our A/C came on and stayed on! So far this year, it's not been turned on at all! My husband is loving this, as I always froze him out of the house!
I have yet to find a protein drink that I can actually say tastes good, but I do keep trying! I've found my taste buds have definitely changed and this once sugar-addict, now cannot stand the thoughts of anything sweet! (Most all the protein drinks taste really sweet to me.)
Not much else to report, just wanted to give everyone an update and send well-wishes to all of you who are preparing for surgery. If I can be of any help, please let me know!
Patti
you go girl! you're looking great.
I'm pre-op, must be wonderful not to have sweet cravings. and not to be freezing people out of the house and office, I'm the same way. I have a collection of sweat bands for my head just to walk or piddle around in the yard.
You know another great thing about all this? I'm fifty years old and I'm FINALLY coming out of the closet admitting things to myself about my food obession. It's because of this site and the thought of getting some help such as surgery.
I've got my first eductaion class this afternoon at the weight loss program facility at Frye Medical Center and I'm excited about it.
Thanks for all your moral boosting.
Joanna
Hi Patty!
Congratulations on your fantastic results! Ellen and I had surgery the same day and we both seem to be plateauing together! Hang in there Ellen. I am having a terrible time with protein. It makes me sick, litterally nauseous for about an hour after drinking it. Sugar just tastes bitter to me now, can't stand it. I am able to eat some fish but food in general is a struggle for me. I do well with soups and yogurt, but that gets old. I have received unbounding love and support at work! I was expecting the opposite but folks are great at my job. They are calling me the incredible shrinking woman! LOL
Many blessings,
Diane
