Questions for Dr.Moran's patients
I had my consult with Dr. Moran on Wed. (4/25). Everything went great and I "qualify" for surgery. so far. My question to you is, how long did it take to get a call back from the office with appointment dates? Secondly, were the appointments far away (like weeks/month)? I made my appointments for psychiatrist, blood work and GI since I already see those Dr.'s. I have to get another upper endoscopy because my last was in 03'. Anywho, I will be done with those appointments by May 11th. Janell was going to schedule my chest x-ray,EKG and ultrasound at Franklin Regional so I can knock them all out at the same time. Did any of you go to Franklin Reg. for your pre-op appointments? I told you all before how impatient (but in a pleasant way ) I am. The waiting is driving me ! Once I get all the appointment dates I'll be fine, I promise! That is until the next round, getting everything together for insurance submittal .
Hi
Here is how the process worked for me:
I went to the initial seminar on 12/13/06
Called Dr. Moran's office on 12/14/06
Went in for my initial consult with Dr. Moran on 12/15/06
My cardiologist appt. was 11/11/07
Endoscopy was 1/23/07
Pulmonologist appt/ was 2/01/07
I scheduled my appt with the nutritionist on 12/18/06
I scheduled my appt with psych on 1/04/07
I had to get a five year weight history on it took a few weeks for one physician to get my information to the office. Once weight history was finally submitted to Dr. Moran's office, they called me on 2/23/07 to let me know they were submitting the information to insurance. Info was admitted to insurance on a Friday, they called me on that next Monday (2/26/07) to let me know I was approved. My surgery was scheduled for 3/08/07 and I got my Band.
My process took under three months and it could have been quicker if I could have gotten my weight history. The pulmonary appointment took the longest to schedule. Janell called me within a day or two with my scheduled appointments. Working with Dr. Moran's office was truly a pleasant experience and they handled all of the insurance "stuff" for me. I hope your experience is as quick and painless as mine!

My journey is as follows:
Seminar on 2/23/07
Exam w/ Dr. Moran on 3/2/07
Psych on 3/12/07
Nutritionist on 3/28/07
PFT, US,Barium swallow, Chest x-ray, blood work on 4/6/07
EKG on 4/12/07
Stress test on 4/19/07
I called Janell Thursday and told her I'm ready to submit to BCBS even though they want 3 mos. supervised by PCP. I have 5 years of diff. attempts and 3 mos. with ww last year. If they deny me, I will have to wait another month and 1/2 but I am going to try and just see what happens. So it has taken me 2 months and I should be submitting to ins. next week.
