I went for my psych eval today. Guess what? It went great. And I feel like I owe it all to everyone here. I had to answer the questions before he saw me. I went in with him and he talked to me and told me all the "bad" things that could happen. As he told me about all of the things like dumping and liquid diet. I would tell him things that I have read here. He told me that I seem to be very educated and informed about the surgery. He said that his only concern is that I seem to be a person that does for others. He told me to please take my time recover and care for myself. I told him that I have totally given up sweet drinks. He told me to try to give up all carbonated drinks. He said that I should start trying to get into the habits of eating like I will after sugery, like drinking 30mins before or after meals. HE CLEARED ME!!!!I am so happy, but I feel really sad for the people who are having a hard time getting clearance.

Congrats! I'm so happy for you! Now you can move on and wonder why the insurance is taking so long to approve you and get a date! lol You are now on the hurry up and wait side. Maybe you should treat yourself to a manicure or a pedicure for getting the worrisome part over? Some pampering for taking the steps on to your new life... you know... to keep the nerves at bay! Congratulations on getting your clearance. I know that was a good day for me. Keep counting down until your surgery, just another thing off the checklist!

Congrats! I am really nervous about my psych evaluation coming up. At least it is behind you now and you don't have to worry about it. Congrats again!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Another leap in the right direction!!! I think they like it when we are educated. This site helped me a lot with that. There's so much that you just don't find in a magazine or the 'WebMD' type of articles. Have a great night and stay happy!

I'm glad everything went well Stacy. I'm sure you're relieved. Remember to do what the man said and Take care of yourself. ~Ellen

Stacy - I new you'd do just fine. See, all you have to do is be you. You Dr. is right about making sure that you take time to take care of you first. It's a real issue for those of us who are used to being the caregiver. One of the things that my counselor has been addressing with me is that fact that I will have to learn to take care of myself first from now on ... not just right after surgery, from now on. Congratulations. Warmly, Barbara

Awesome! You've given me new hope! :-) I have an appointment in the morning with a woman PsyD this time. I hope things will go as well with me as it has for you. Congrats to you for getting through this step.
