howdy from K-town!
Just thought I'd drop in to say hello to everyone! I normally hang out on the Non-ops board but thought I'd venture out into the forest a little more. Most everyone on this site has had or is going to have WLS but I'm one of the few who have chosen not to have WLS, at least for now. There are various reasons for that but I won't go into them now. Anyways, just wanted to say Hi and congrats on everyone's success and continued success!
I'm in Winston-Salem right now. I commute here for work from Kannapolis. The weather here is quite nice as well. I'm ready for quittin' time so I can go sweat out the long drive home! A/C broke in the daily commuting truck and I haven't fixed it yet. I could've drove the gas guzzler to work but OMG gas is SO expensive! It's nice sweating sometimes.
Yeah it really does stink. Mostly it's the gas money. I can get over the hour drive. Now I screwed up and told the present employer I wasn't sure I was gonna take the position and was gonna start looking. Asked them to extend the contract another month and if I couldn't find anything I would accept their offer. Lol, bad idea cuz now they're iffy about even accepting my acceptance. Ahh well, guess I'll end up unemployed for a while. Been there before.
I was laid off back in November and there wasn't much hiring going on during that time of year so I took the first thing that came along. It was a pay cut but I figured what the heck I could survive on it. I decided I would take the position and move to Winston in 6 months. Well now I hate the Winston area. It's just not my thing so I decided I'd commute. Got tired of the commute about the third month into the job and decided I need to let them know, so I did. Now I'm nervous about the whole thing because I don't have another job landed and they're wanting me to make a decision. The most recent conversation with the manager led me to believe that they are no longer offering me the position because of my hesitation.
