Down, But Not Out

Well surgery for me is a NO go. I've been working hard at pursuing all of my options since I've been away, but with all that I've done, I'm beating a dead horse. I don't think that I left one stone unturned. I paid more money out this past week, money I didn't have, trying to get this WLS. Well It seems that it's just not my time. So anyway............I move on. Thanks EVERYBODY for your prayers, kind words, suggestions, dr's phone numbers, emails, phone calls and any and everything else. I REALLY appreciate it. So now on to putting forth a valiant effort at finding the slimmer me.........1 day, 1 minute, 1 lb at time. I feel a little.........I guess defeated right now, but this too shall pass. It's not the worst thing that has ever happened to me in my life. So I have the tools to get past it and I will. Thanks Again, Candy

Do you know about COBRA? http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/faqs/faq_consumer_cobra.html Read that link and see if your company would fall into COBRA qualified. Take COBRA and extend your present ins out for a month. Yes, you would have to pay out of pocket for that month, I know you said you were out of money, but somehow work it out to pay that extra month of ins. Joanna

I am sorry you are feeling discouraged. I am sorta in the same boat too. I believe that I will have to have more money to pay up front than I was expecting if I want to have this surgery and right now I just don't have it. Plus the fact that my Mom may end up having to have back surgery in the near future and if this happens then I will have to postpone my surgery to help take care of her since I am all she has right now. It is very frustrating to want something so bad and not be able to get it. But things do happen for a reason even though we don't always like it. Hang in there and try to keep the faith. Please do look into COBRA...I extended my insurance by paying my own copays each month. It can be done. Don't give up now.

Thank you all for your input. I really appreciate it. I checked into paying for it on my own, unfortunately I can't because "other insurance is available to me thru my employer". They have a clause that reads something to that effect. So there it is.....I will move on and try to lose some lbs on my own. Wish me luck
