When have people experienced the honeymoon period ending? ie when have people started gaining weight and or had to work at things harder. i've been very lucky and so far holding very steady. i'm just curious and do not want to feel too confident. thanks for any feedback. susan

Hi Susan, You have done fantastic!!! You are such an inspiration to me. I pray I can do as well as you did. I am almost a month out and have lost 30 lbs.! I have no idea how long the honeymoon lasts.... I only pray I can do what you have done! Blessings, Diane

thanks for your response. i feel very blessed with my response to the surgery. i get paranoid about how long this will last. i admit i weigh daily and am a bit OCD about it. i've been told by my physician team to stop.....but i don't think that i can or at least do not want to stop. if the scale goes up even a couple of pounds i'm all over it. congratulations on the surgery..your decision...and your loss!!! it is a very exciting time. if you follow the rules it will go just as well for you i feel sure. i do feel much better. keep us updated!! feel free to ask if you have any questions have a great day susan

The honeymoon period is typically the first 6 months since that is when the loss is the greatest. The typical weight loss window is 18 months. On average people hit a low point then gain back 10% of what they lost. Since its all averages not everybody gains weight back. Im still too early out to say but hopefully I will be one of those!
