I need a surgeon..........and fast!!!!!

I have my approval thru BCBSNC. My surgery date is scheduled for May 7th, but I was just informed this week by my employer that we are switching insurance carriers effective May 1st!!!!!!!! The new insurance will not cover the surgery!!!!!!!!!!! I need to find a surgeon that can work me into his/her schedule by April 30th!!!!!!! My doctor is unable to move me up.................I have come this far, I'm not gonna quit trying!!!!!! Does anyone have any recommendations???????????

My surgeon was DrMelkonian... there is also DrLowe in his office. Keep in mind if you get a new surgeon you will have to get your approval changed with BCBS since it is surgeon specific - good luck!

If you find a doctor that will put you through you might want to get copies of all the tests that you have already completed so if its a go you wont have to request anything. I have Tricare and when I wanted to change things on my referrals even the hospital, it was not a problem, long as I already had approval for that procedure it was nothing for them to change the doctor I was going to see.. some time when a company switches out insurance you can keep your old one if you pay for it yourself. See if you can keep it long enough to have the gbs done. I have bcbsnc. God bless and good luck.............. Amy
