Hey, I had one at cmc-union. It was fine. I just went to sleep and when I woke up I was done. I have a problem called a stomic stenosis, scar tissue build up around my intestine. It is seriously restricting my intake. I have all the details postd on my blog. I'll find out tuesday what the next step is going to be. They say they can insert a baloon into the narrow part and stretch it out or I may have to do another surgery. As far as the endoscopy, it was no sweat. Good luck! Kristi

I can't really speak for that particular place, but I'ma GI nurse at PCMH and we do use sedation. We use Fentanyl and Versed, and most people do very well with it. It causes less nausea that what was used in the past (Demerol.) we also use either hurricaine or cetacaine spray to numb your throat (cetacaine is stronger and you can't eat for approx 2 hours following the procedure) Most people don't remember anything and the actual proceduer only takes a few minutes. I hope you're feeling better soon!!
