In the process but still unsure if I am making the right decision, please help!

Hi Jennifer, I can tell you this, I was on ALL those DIET PILLS you mentioned and they did nothing for me. I had my gastric by pass on Jan 16 and have lost 45lbs so far. Was it worth it ??? HEll YEAH and I would do it again and again. I thought if I had this surgery I would not be able to get with the diet but believe me when I tell you, You Will. There is just so much you can fit in that pouch and you will learn fast what and what not to eat. I have a long way to go but my weight just keeps on going down and not up. Thank God! Somedays I weigh myself and I want it to come right off but believe me it does all in time. I know some people do get sick and throw up, but you just have to becareful of what you eat and LISTEN to your doctor and do EVERYTHING he or she says and you will do GREAT! I have gotten sick just a few times but havent really threw up but once since surgery. The only reason I did feel sick is because I ate too fast or I had a little too much to eat But you will learn as time goes by. Hi, Jennifer thanks for your reply I agree you think about the surgery and the freedom that it could bring. Then you see the articles about some with ulcers and the dumping,nausea. I dont know if I want to change one bad addition(food) for such adverse medical conditions. I have also been on all the weight control meds Phen-fen which worked incrediblly well, Phentermine which just helps maintain a small amount of control. I have never tried the Xenical but I hear it has some side effects of its own. Now on this journey I have had all the physicals, been through the seminars, talked with my insurance company and got tenative clearance. Now on Wed I have an appointment for the four hour Psychology exam, maybe I will have a more positive outlook on going forward then. Your Psychologist apparently has never researched the bypass surgery saying its just another tool that could fail. You and I know that once we take that step it will be like jumping off a high rock into the lake "theres no turning back". I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for the support! Ben
